Abra Dental offers the convenience of having orthodontics right down the hall from your family’s pediatric dentists. When you or your child are ready for braces, they’ll be able to receive orthodontic care in the same location where they receive the rest of their dental care.
Today, over 25% of orthodontic patients are adults. No longer are misaligned teeth remaining untreated. Instead, adults everywhere are taking the opportunity to prioritize their oral health and enhance their smiles!
Who May Be A Candidate For Treatment?
Your child may be a candidate for early interceptive orthodontic treatment if they have:
Crowded teeth: Crowded teeth occur when there is not enough room in the jaw for the teeth to fit normally, causing teeth to bunch up, overlap and twist.
Gapped teeth: Gapped teeth cause distinct gaps between the teeth caused by the difference between the size of the jaw and the size of the teeth.
Underbite: An underbite is a condition in which the lower teeth extend farther than the upper teeth.
Jaw irregularities: Jaw irregularities often include abnormal jaw sizes or narrow dental arches.
Are Braces
Right For Me?
The American Association of Orthodontics recommends a consultation with an orthodontist starting at age 7. All consults at our office incur no out-of-pocket cost to the patient.
Growth, development, and dental alignment will be evaluated and braces may be prescribed if needed. The doctor will check for missing teeth, baby teeth that are not falling out, or teeth that may be stuck. In recent decades, braces have grown more popular with adults due to more discreet designs and a shrinking social stigma.
What Issues Do
Braces Solve?
Braces are particularly effective at treating simple and complex cases. While clear aligners are able to address minor cosmetic issues, they are ill-equipped to tackle significant tooth corrections, as they cannot exert the same force and reposition teeth with the same effectiveness as braces.
Because of their mechanics, braces can successfully rotate and pull teeth into position, allowing them to fix complicated issues like crossbites.
